University of Botswana presentations

Researchers on Consumer Education across the world have found that it is closely related to consumer protection in financial services and have thus called for more financial literacy programmes to be put in place in order to increase financial inclusion. Botswana is no exception when it comes to the importance of enhancing consumer financial literacy and inclusion. Consumer education has a dual role to play; to educate those using financial services to make sensible decisions, and to promote the use of financial services to those who currently don’t. In helping today’s complex markets, consumer financial education is central to helping consumers make better decisions about the management of their money (Bernanke, 2002).
