IFSC Accredited Companies
GLOBAL BUSINESS DEPARTMENT (COMPANIES WITH INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL SERVICES CENTER ACCREDITATION)
These are non-bank financial institutions that have been certified as International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) companies by the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) and issued with a tax certificate. The Authority is responsible for monitoring these entities by ensuring that they comply with the conditions on their tax certificate, that they are financially sound and comply with relevant legal framework.
IFSC accredited companies are offered incentives and benefits so as to attract them to Botswana and to import services to Botswana and create employment. Such incentives include-
- Sustainable low tax environment
- Access to an expanding Double Taxation Avoidance Treaty network
- Tax administration
- Work and Residence Permits
Currently the department supervises five (1) IFSC accredited non-bank financial institutions:
