Board of Directors

Section 5 of the NBFIRA Act establishes the Board of Directors to whom all corporate governance responsibilities as well as all operational and regulatory functions are entrusted. The appointment of Board Members is vested in the Minister of Finance and Economic Development as per NBFIRA Act. The NBFIRA Board of directors comprise:

Mrs. Hilda Hlanti

Ms. Patrinah Masalela (ex officio member from Ministry of Finance and Economic Development)

Dr. Lesedi Senatla (ex officio member from Bank of Botswana)

Mr. Oduetse Motshidisi (Chief Executive Officer and ex officio member)

Ms. Lerang Maruping- nee Lephole

Mr. Kgotso Gaamangwe

Under Section 41 of the NBFIRA Act, the NBFIRA Board of Directors through a written instrument of delegation is empowered to delegate its powers and functions to:

• A member of the NBFIRA Board
• An employee of NBFIRA
• An employee of the Bank of Botswana
• An investigator or
• A Self Regulatory Organization.
