INTERNAL AUDITOR

Reports to: Manager Internal Audit

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Execute the audit programme to:

(a) assess operational efficiency, risks, soundness of business practices, reliability of financial reporting and effectiveness of financial controls and procedures, and

(b) evaluate compliance with set procedures and applicable laws

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Timely completion of annual plan
  • Number of audit engagements completed as a proportion of overall plan (include target)
  • Enhanced efficiency because of implementation of recommendations
  • Reduction in non-compliance arising out of Audit interventions
  • Provision of timely, clear, comprehensive, conclusive, and cohesive audit reports
  • Quality of audit findings and recommendations
  • Informed Auditees on Internal Audit matters
  • Level of maturity of the internal control environment
  • Continuous professional development and application of innovative practices for work improvement

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional qualification (e.g. CIA, MIIA, ACCA, CIMA, Master’s in Auditing, Finance/Accounting etc.) from a recognised institution
  • At least 5 years of similar post-qualification experience.
