Vacancy: Senior Analyst – AML/CFT

Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following vacancy:

  1. Senior Analyst – AML/CFT

Reports to: Manager – AML/CFT

Main Purpose of the job

To  carry out effective supervision of NBFIs with regard to AML/CFT laws and regulations. The role involves conducting regulatory inspections, investigations and compliance reviews, analysing institutional risk profiles, preparing clear and concise evidence-based compliance reports, and recommend corrective and enforcement  action where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Law , Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field from a recognised institution.
  • AML/CFT regulation professional certification.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in financial regulation, with some experience in AML/CFT.

Specialised knowledge, Technical skills and Competencies

  • AML/CFT regulation: rules, processes, techniques, best practices, etc.
  • Knowledge and advanced understanding of  FATF recommendations, relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of data analytics tools and regulatory technology (RegTech)relevant to the position.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises sound judgment in sensitive situations
  • Research, critical thinking, analytical & problem-solving.
  • Testing and monitoring risk and control frameworks to ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations
  • Presentation and training skills.
  • Conceptual and practical thinking
