Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following vacancy tenable in Gaborone:
Analyst – Retirement Funds x2 (Fixed – Term Contract 12 months)
Main Purpose of the job
Responsible for the supervision of a portfolio of licenced low risk Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) as per the instruction and direction of the departmental management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct offsite analysis of Retirement Funds sector.
- Ensure compliance with revised retirement funds administrative rules and minimum standards for retirement funds boards
- Collate information for the production of data reports for the department and maintenance of relevant registers.
- Support tracking of the risk register and internal audit initiatives
- Maintain records and related documentation for the department.
- Assist in preparatory work for regulatory meetings and minute taking
- Attend to data requests from other NBFIRA departments.
- Assist with monitoring compliance of member nomination beneficiary forms and member education
- Attend to queries from the Retirement Funds sector.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Computer Science or Information Technology and Public Administration or related fields from a recognised institution.
At least 1-2 years relevant work experience.
Specialised knowledge and technical skills
- Licensing practices, principles, tools etc.
- Botswana NBFI sector knowledge
- Use of risk profiling tools and methodologies such as RBSS.
- Knowledge of Acts governing the NBFI sector in Botswana.
- Proficient in the use of computers and software relevant to the position.
