Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following vacancy tenable in Gaborone:

Analyst – Retirement Funds x2 (Fixed – Term Contract 12 months)

Main Purpose of the job

Responsible for the supervision of a portfolio of licenced low risk Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) as per the instruction and direction of the departmental management.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct offsite analysis of Retirement Funds sector.
2. Ensure compliance with revised retirement funds administrative rules and minimum standards for retirement funds boards
3. Collate information for the production of data reports for the department and maintenance of relevant registers.
4. Support tracking of the risk register and internal audit initiatives
5. Maintain records and related documentation for the department.
6. Assist in preparatory work for regulatory meetings and minute taking
7. Attend to data requests from other NBFIRA departments.
8. Assist with monitoring compliance of member nomination beneficiary forms and member education
9. Attend to queries from the Retirement Funds sector.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Computer Science or Information Technology and Public Administration or related fields from a recognised institution.

At least 1-2 years relevant work experience.

Specialised knowledge and technical skills

1. Licensing practices, principles, tools etc. 
2. Botswana NBFI sector knowledge
3. Use of risk profiling tools and methodologies such as RBSS.
4. Knowledge of Acts governing the NBFI sector in Botswana.
5. Proficient in the use of computers and software relevant to the position.
