The Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) participated in the Botswana Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) Data Protection Conference, a national platform aimed at bridging the compliance gap, facilitating knowledge exchange, and unlocking the economic value of data privacy through cross-sector collaboration.
The two-day conference was held at Royal Aria from October 9 to 10, 2025, bringing together regulators, industry leaders, and professionals to discuss evolving trends and best practices in data protection and compliance.
Representing NBFIRA, Mr. Mooketsi Ramanteba, Director – AML/CFT & P, delivered a presentation on “The Role of Regulators in Driving Compliance Culture and Economic Value.” Additionally, Mr. Kenneth Davidparticipated in a panel discussion that focused on how regulators are enforcing and reshaping the data protection compliance culture.
NBFIRA’s participation underscores the Authority’s ongoing commitment to promoting sound regulatory practices, fostering compliance awareness, and supporting data protection initiatives that contribute to a secure and resilient financial ecosystem.
