License Application or Renewal
NBFIRA offers an online application platform called Risk Based Supervisory System (RBSS), which simplifies formal communication with the Regulator. Through the RBSS Portal, you can submit all required returns and manage both new license applications and renewals efficiently. For detailed guidance, please refer to the RBSS Manual
The Licensing Process
NBFIRA’s timeline when applying for a license
Applicant required to firstly submit all documents listed under Legal Form to gain access to the RBSS portal which will enable the applicant to make a full submission
Upon gaining access to RBSS Portal, complete submission. An application is considered to be complete when all the necessary documents have been submitted and the non-refundable application fee has been paid.
Upon receipt of a complete application, NBFIRA shall within 90 days, review the application and determine whether a license should be granted to the applicant or not. Applications deemed incomplete are not accepted by the NBFIRA and will be rejected.
If your application meets all requirements, NBFIRA will approve it and issue a license. If not, they will reject your application and notify you of the reasons, along with your right to appeal the decision.
