The Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority is pleased to host a delegation from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe for a two-day benchmarking exercise on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism & Proliferation (AML/CFT&P) of the non-bank financial institutions, namely microfinance institutions and development financial institutions.
The Bank Supervision Division of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is in a process of assuming the primary responsibility of monitoring and supervising anti-money laundering and counter financing of terrorism within their regulated financial institutions.
The delegation from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe consists of:
- Ms. Susan Kabungaidze – Legal and Enforcement Deputy Director of Bank Supervision,
- Ms. Locadia Chaavure – Principal Bank Examiner; and
- Ms. Brenda Sikwila – Bank Examiner, Microfinance Institutions
The Delegation stated that their benchmarking visit is prompted by the significant progress that Botswana has made in the area of AML/CFT&P supervision including the legal framework, guidance to the market and other supervisory processes hence their visit.
