The NBFIRA Corporate Social Responsibility Event in Maun

The spirit of community and compassion filled the air in Maun as the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) Board Chairperson, Mr. Thabo Emmanuel Gaadingwe, delivered heartfelt remarks at the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event. Taking advantage of hosting the CISNA meetings in Maun, NBFIRA saw it fitting to make a meaningful contribution to the social and economic upliftment of the local community. On October 7, 2025, the Authority demonstrated this commitment by supporting education through financial contributions to the Tshidilo Stimulation Center and Boseja Primary School.

The NBFIRA Board Chairperson graced the event with his engaging and inclusive opening remarks that communicated NBFIRA’s community values and the purpose of the CSR initiative. Addressing an audience of children, Maun community leaders, teachers, caretakers and the media fraternity, the Chairperson expressed joy and gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate partnership, learning, and shared purpose. “Today is not just about speeches or photos, it’s about the joy of giving, the excitement of learning, and the power of working together to make our communities stronger,” Mr. Gaadingwe said.

The NBFIRA Chairperson continued to remind the audience that while NBFIRA’s core mandate focuses on non-bank financial regulation, its mission goes beyond numbers and policies it’s also about people. “We don’t just look after numbers, regulations, and reports, we look after people too! Especially young people like you, who are the bright future of Botswana,” Mr. Gaadingwe emphasized. In closing, the Chairperson thanked teachers, parents, and partners for their unwavering dedication and partnership, and left the young learners with a powerful message: “What you learn, how you care for each other, and the dreams you chase will build the Botswana of tomorrow”. Let’s continue to plant seeds of kindness, teamwork, and possibility because when we do that, we all win”, the Chairperson said.

The podium was then graced by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Verily Molatedi, who extended a warm welcome to guests attending NBFIRA’s CSR event in Maun. In her remarks, Ms. Molatedi emphasized that for NBFIRA’s Corporate Social Responsibility is more than a duty, that it embodies the organisation’s core values. She described the event as one that went beyond corporate obligation, serving as a celebration of compassion, unity, and community upliftment. Ms. Molatedi reaffirmed NBFIRA’s belief that the success of any business is deeply connected to the wellbeing of the communities it serves. “Ka jalo re ka seke ra tle Maun re bo re boa fela,” she said, emphasizing that NBFIRA’s presence in Maun must leave a meaningful footprint.

In deliberating the vote of thanks, the Chairperson of the Tshidilo Stimulation Center Mr. Mosebo Mzico Molapisi expressed heartfelt gratitude to NBFIRA for the generous donation to the center, which is a Non-Governmental Organisation that depends on such acts of kindness. The center is the only facility in the Ngamiland District that provides free rehabilitation, stimulation, production, and counselling services to people with disabilities. “Bagaetsho, go sego lebogo lele abang go nale le le amogelang” said the chairperson in closing.
