Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for the following vacancy: Head of Strategy
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Main Purpose of the job
To lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of NBFIRA’s corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with national development goals, regulatory mandates, and industry trends. The role ensures data-driven strategic decision-making and supports the Authority in achieving long-term organizational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and periodic review of NBFIRA’s strategic plan.
- Facilitate strategy workshops and consultations with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and performance metrics.
- Develop and implement performance monitoring frameworks.
- Track and report on strategic KPIs and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct strategic risk analysis and scenario planning.
- Lead environmental scanning and analysis of national and global trends.
- Liaise with government departments, regulators, and industry bodies.
- Support alignment of departmental and divisional plans with the corporate strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s degree in Strategic Management, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience, with 4 years in a Senior Strategic or Planning role, preferably in Financial Services or Regulatory environment.
- Professional Certification in Strategy, Risk, or Corporate Governance is an added advantage.
Specialised knowledge and technical skills
- Strategic planning processes, practices, methodologies and tools
- Proficient in the use of computers and software relevant to the position.
